A Bit About Us

Hello, visitor! My name is Marissa, and I live in Seattle with my boyfriend Shane. We met in 2016 while both working for the same big software company, and started dating over the summer of 2017.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve considered myself an adventurer.

Growing up in Montana, hiking and camping were things I did regularly. I learned to sail on small dinghies growing up, but had never sailed a real boat before last year. As I grew into an adult, responsibilities crept into my life, but I still made a point to travel. Some of my most memorable experiences were my trips to New Zealand in 2007 and Germany in 2008. Between 2011 and 2019 I visited Hawaii at least once a year, sometimes twice. So in early 2020 when the global pandemic set in, needless to say, I started going a little stir-crazy.

Hi, I’m Shane!

I grew up in a small valley nestled in the western Cascades of Washington state. I spent much of my childhood hiking, backpacking, swimming (it was cold) and generally having fun outdoors. I’m a huge nerd, I really like games of all kinds and many computer things. As an adult I’ve longed to leave this established life behind and adventure again.
